Blowby

Blowby gases are not exclusive to diesel engines and can be observed in gasoline engines as well, albeit with lesser intensity.

Engine Oil and phenomena of blow-by implies affect the gap between the rings and the cylinder. This happens when the engine gets older and the coating begins to wear. In this stage the engine oil film located on the coating which normally should have been 'scraped' by the piston rings is now 'exposed' to combustion. This oil then burns and the deposits goes on the piston. This further increases the friction between the piston and the coating and finally into high consumption of engine oil.

In a carriage or wagon, running gear designates the wheels and axles in distinction from the body.

A motor vehicle's driveline or drivetrain consists of the parts of the powertrain excluding the engine and transmission. It is the portion of a vehicle, after the transmission, that changes depending on whether a vehicle is front-wheel, rear-wheel, or four-wheel drive, or less-common six-wheel or eight-wheel drive.

Irrespective of whether a gear is spur or helical, in every plane of the involute gears the contact between a pair of gear teeth occurs at a single instantaneous point where two involutes of the same spiral hand find each other. Contact on the other side of the teeth is where both involutes are of the other spiral hand. Rotation of the gears causes the location of this contact point to move across the respective tooth surfaces. The tangent at any point of the curve is perpendicular to the generating line irrespective of the mounting distance of the gears. Thus the line of the force follows the generating line, and is thus tangent to the two base circles, and is known as the Line of Action (also called Pressure Line or Line of Contact).
